This is so true.....

I'm tired people directly associated with me and indirectly associated with me trying to make peace with words yet don't alter their actions at all.... Actions is what matters.... Your actions have caused irreconcilable differences.

Change is a part of life. If people can't accept the positive changes you have made in your life.. screw them. They don't know you & never had your best interest in mind anyways. & Generally if you look at these people who do this .. They aren't happy.... & Misery loves company! Do what makes you happy! Each day better yourself! @ the end of the day see who is there for you & realize these are the only people you need.

I've been thinking a lot about people and why people do what they do. Why they say what they say. Why they even care.. I was talking to a friend a friend I consider to be a true friend who had been hurt by a mutual friend of ours. She told about things that had been said to her and done to her and expressed the pain it made her feel... I have been thinking about these two girls. Along with some other people...... & I have came up with this.. Fake people will always be fake. Liars will always Lie. People can change but most don't. Trust very Little. Do what you know to be Right. Live the Life you want to live. Emotionally rid your life of the Fakes and the Liars.. Free yourself. Don't let them bring you down. Generally the Fakes & Liars don't have many friends and if their small amount of friends believe them... Count your losses. & give it time ... A persons true colors always show through.... Keep close the ones you love. Treasure those people.Cherish those people. Focus your Attention on those people. & Live with a clear conscience....

Life as of lately has been pretty dang good. Ryan & I are both adjusting still to the married life. I think the adjustment is a little harder for me. Ryan says getting married is the best thing he has ever done. He has been a great supportive husband. I seriously couldn't ask for him to be better. He is so patient with me and has taken on a big brother role with my siblings which I love. He has been great! I still have a hard time leaving my parents house every night. I don't think that will ever become easy or that I will ever get used to it. I just like to be with my family♥

A little bit ago Ryan & I had some time to spare North of the Point while his truck was getting fixed. We had a great time and went EVERYWHERE! It felt like our honeymoon with all the shopping. I got my mom a surprise and Ryan picked my dad out surprise.. I think they loved them :)

While we were waiting for his truck we decided we would each pick out each other an outfit and the other person had to try it on. Also the person couldn't see the outfit until the other person gave it to them. I picked out a casual outfit for Ryan and Ryan picked out a business outfit for me. Go figure! meh!

Outfit number two was much the same.


Ryan is super casual & I look like I am ready for a day at the office.

This last week Ryan & I also de-cruded our house. We got rid of all crude humor, not rated, rated R, un-rated videos we had. We never watched them anyways and most of the videos were gifts. It felt good to get that junk out of our house. & to know that if my little sister came over she can watch any movie she wants... Ryan kept bringing it up that we needed to go through them but we finally got around to it and its done! check! We both felt good after we got rid of that stuff. Life has enough things it throws at you and temptations why add more confusion then needed to your brain.

We have also kept our goal of attending the Temple often, Daily scripture study, and Daily prayer. Some nights we read more then other nights but every night we read together. Through these 3 simple things we have grown together in whole new way. Not only is Ryan my husband & best friend he is the Priesthood Leader of our home & we are Eternal Companions. Even though right now are home only consists of Ryan,Chief, & I it feels good to know that we have are home in order and are doing the things now that we will need to do when we do have children. These 3 simple things ( Temple Attendance, Scripture Study, & Prayer) have helped us both in our personal lives so much as well. I love the way our lives are heading.

Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search. So, here's my epiphany: Mitt Romney simply can't help himself. He sees a problem, and his mind immediately sets to work solving it, sometimes consciously, and sometimes not-so-consciously. Lately we have been so busy. I just started a new semester of school & Ryan is still working two jobs. Every night Ryan & I meet up at my parents house. My mom & I have been on a lifetime movie kick & also pretty into the debates. Ryan usually spends his night teasing me and my mom or taking my little sister out for treats. In the pic below Ryan decided to stand on his head and repeat ( I LOVE LIFETIME MOVIES; I LOVE LIFETIME MOVIES) Over and Over again. It was pretty funny :) maybe you had to be there but it was funny :)

Last week Ryan & I took a turn doing FHE for my family! Ryan made a great dinner & helped with the lesson & I did the rest of the lesson & my amazing mom made a yummy desert. It was a good time! Well its a good time every week :)

Life is busy, but simple, I'm slowly adjusting, thankfully Ryan has been so good & loves spending time with my family...Life is Good... :)

Christmas & New Years ♥

I love the Holidays! Christmas is such a magical time of year. I love everything about Christmas. I love Temple Square and the lights, I love live Nativities, I love reading the Christmas Story out of the bible, I love Santa Clause, I love shopping, I love hot chocolate, I love Christmas songs, I love being with my family, I LOVE LOVE LOVE RYAN & MY MOMS SHOPPING TRIPS :) ( Every year for the last 6 years Ryan & my mom plan a day and go shopping. Ryan takes my mom to dinner and they hit the malls. Ryan & I's very first Christmas together Ryan hated Christmas. He said he hating shopping, hated the stress, and hated the season. 6years ago Ryan & mom started their annual shopping day & 6 years later Ryan loves Christmas.. Their shopping day is something they both look forward to & needless to say I look forward to as well )

I pretty much love everything about Christmas.

This Christmas was my first "married" Christmas. Ryan & I spent Christmas Eve at my parents house! We went to my Grandparents Christmas Eve night & then spent the night with my siblings. Which we will be doing every Christmas Eve.. This year was the first year of our Christmas eve tradition! Raelynne & I woke up first and then woke Cody & Ryan up. We then all went and woke my parents up. Every year sense we were little kids we wake my parents up, then my parents go see what Santa brought us, and then my parents say we can all come down stairs. Its always a fight to see who can get down the stairs first. (I won this year) Ryan's face was priceless as Rae, Cody, & I fought for first dibbs down the stairs. Santa Clause spoiled us all this year.. I don't know how that man in the red suit does it.. All I have to say is Ryan, Rae, Cody, & I must have been good kids this last year :)

A few days before Christmas I took Raelynne out Christmas Shopping. We had dinner, went and saw the lights at Thanksgiving Point, got some shopping done, and ended the night with Footloose! We had a blast.

We also got these sweet hats! I love spending time with my sis :)

This Christmas season I got to meet some of Ryan's family from Oklahoma. They were such cool people & so easy to be around. Ryan was especially excited to see his cousin Anthony. I have heard so many stories about him and Anthony from when they were younger I was pretty excited to meet him myself.

We spent New Years with my Fam as well! I've always spent New Years home. We hung out with my awesome parents, played games with my sis, ate some good food, and watched some good movies. It couldn't have been better!!

I was the only one this year who went out and banged pots and midnight. Every one else was party poopers. I have banged pots at midnight since I can remember. Even though I was alone. I had fun!!!

Fun Times ♥♥ In The Winter Time♥♥

Ryan surprised me this year with NFR tickets. Not only did he get me & him tickets but he also got my mom & sister tickets. I was so excited. This was actually my first time going to the NFR so I was ecstatic.


When we first got their we explored Freemont Street. It was fun seeing all the music, dressed up people, and just random stuff going on everywhere you looked.

I can honestly say I won these beads by shaking my tail feather on Freemont! Ha ha I had a blast.

All of us girls! I love these two.

This guy sounded a lot like Johnny Cash. We danced to his music and sang a long it was a good time!!!

Cowboy Christmas was really fun! We got some Christmas Shopping done here! There were so many booths & fun things to look at.

At cowboy Christmas Raelynne got to meet once again her favorite entertainer Boogerhead. or "Brinson Harris" as she would say. He was so nice to her and fun to talk to.

This was the Very First ornament we got for our Christmas Tree! We started a tradition this year of going Christmas Tree shopping with my family. It was so fun loading up in my dad's truck and headed to the lot and not only picking out 1 but 2 trees. Then after we all went to eat. It was an amazing time! I would never have it any other way!

The last month has flown by. There has been so much happen. Life has been a whirlwind! I've really come to realize what matters, who matters, and who just isn't worth the head ache. Not living at home has been really hard for me but Ryan has been extremely patient, loving, and understanding. I couldn't ask for him to be better. My family has also been amazing! I still see them every single day & cherish every single day the time I get to spend with them.

The Robinson side of my family did me a bridal shower. I was so grateful for them and the time they put into my shower. It was so fun seeing everyone! Thanks so much to my Aunt Jean, Jeanie, Jane, & Jenay for throwing me this awesome shower! && Thanks to everyone who came!!!!

They did this super cute game where before the shower they asked Ryan a bunch of questions.. Then they asked me the questions. If I got the questions right then I got to open a gift if I got it wrong I got to answer another question. It was super fun & cute! & Can I just Ryan & I are on the same page ♥ ha ha I did pretty good!

We had a pretty awesome Thanksgiving. I love my whole family. My Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins.. Everyone! It was awesome! Ryan & I had the annual job of peeling the potatoes and the night before I stayed up all night helping my mom makes home made pies. It was pretty hectic though because Thanksgiving night we moved into a house. Luckily my family was their to help us. & get us situated.

After That Raelynne & I went shopping!! We had a blast! & I got my dad the coolest present ever!!!!

&& was so happy with our great deals!!!

Ryan & I are not quite settled in our new place. With my school , work & him working two jobs its hard to get things done. Especially with my literal home sickness problem. Its been rough.. So I spend pretty much every day with my Family at my home.. But we are getting there. We lit our first fire the other night & warned are feet by it!

Life is weird, good, but weird.. So glad I have my family! Or there is no way I could do this.

I've noticed a few of my friends have been posting on facebook things they are grateful for everyday. I think this is neat and would like to thank all of you who are doing this for your positive posts! Its definitely a breath of fresh air from some of the negativity that a lot of days bombards the facebook network.

I have so much to be grateful for this Holiday season & at this time of my life. My heart is truly full of gratitude.

I am one blessed little girl..

At the top of my list is my Mom: Kathy

This woman is the most beautiful woman that my blue eyes have ever seen. Her beauty is not only her obvious outward beauty... Its more then that... She has the kind of beauty that starts from the inside and shines out... She has been right by my side through all my hard times... & she planned the wedding of my dreams!! She is my best friend for eternity!! I was so happy she was able to escort me through the temple & dress me in the brides room of the temple! I needed her more then anyone & she was their! I shouldn't be surprised and no one else should be because she has always been their!! She is the one I still need! I know with her as my friend and as my escort through life I can't do wrong!!! I honor, respect, cherish, adore, & love this woman with all my heart & not just because she holds the title of my Mother! But because she is honorable, respectable, cherishable, adorable, & loveable! She is amazing! & words can't describe my gratitude which I'm sure will last the rest of my life for this woman!

My Dad is also at the very top of my list. My Dad understands in ways most people don't. He has been a rock me throughout my life and continues to be! I'm so grateful for the times he has used his gift of discernment in my life and put me on the right track. I'm grateful for the talks he has had with me and for his simple strong words of wisdom. When everyone else teased me about having to move out and about leaving home (which was & still is very hard... I've yet to fully move out) he put a stop to it and said I don't need to rush & also assured me that his house will always be my home & there will always be room for me here. I'm grateful for my strong, no nonsense, amazing, respectable, honorable, father.

I'm grateful for my Husband! ( still not used to saying that word) Ryan has been the greatest! He has been so patient & understanding with me. He has taken on the role of the "Priesthood Leader" & makes sure every night we read scriptures and say our prayers. Ryan gets me & says he will continue to be the best most amazing husband for time and all eternity! I'm so grateful he took me through the Temple & that he is respectable and Honorable.. & that he respects & honors me! We know eachother pretty well & it's nice to be able to say that I truly married my best friend! (he's my other best friend) && I am so so grateful for that ♥

I couldn't have a gratitude list with out including these two! Cody & Raelynne! Cody & Raelynne are the best siblings I could ever ask for! Sometimes Cody's relentless teasing get's old but I know he means well & am grateful for his friendship! Growing up Cody & I did everything together! There was no friend that I ever wanted to be with more then Cody! I remember having friends over and Cody saying "Its time for you to go home" because he wanted to play with me. Every time I had my friend leave and would spend the rest of the day with Cody. To this day there is still no one I would rather spend my time with then Cody.. I cherish every moment I get with him & am so grateful for him in my life.
Raelynne is my "little" best friend. She is my little side kick & I'm grateful for her friendship & sisterhood in my life. I remember when I found out my mom was pregnant with a little girl & how excited I was that I would have a little sister. Raelynne is such a strong, good, amazing little girl. She makes me want to be better because I know she looks up to me & she keeps me always striving to be better! I'm grateful for Raelynne's sweetness and sincerity.. She is such an amazing strong young woman & I cherish & look forward to my time with her.. More then that I'm grateful she likes to spend time with me :)

I'm grateful for my eternal family! For my knowledge of my Eternal Family & For the Gospel in my life! To me this is what life is about & what I wake up for everyday.

Just Around The Corner...

Its just crazy to think my wedding is just around the corner... So many good things have been happening! Ryan recently took out his endowments ♥... He really wanted to get his endowments taken out before I got mine taken out so he would be a little more experienced then I was with the Temple.. He is really taking being a Priesthood leader of a home serious & is doing so many great things♥ My parents & his grandparents went with him for his first time & me and my siblings waited for him to get out.. He was so happy when he got out & couldn't wait to show off his G's... It was so neat seeing him after... I was in the waiting room off to the side when he got out so he didn't see me right off the bat.. The first thing I seen was him & then my mom both walking with huge smiles on their faces. =) this made me super happy... Ryan said the temple was an amazing experience & he just can't wait to take me.. Sense his Temple experience he has been a little missionary and helping others that aren't quite Temple ready get temple ready. Its been pretty cool!!

Its also been Birthday time at the Robinson house hold! This October Raelynne turned 13 & Cody turned 20. I love my brother and sister so much. I'm so blessed & feel so lucky that god gave me my best friends as siblings.Cody & Raelynne's birthday celebrations seem to last about a week!! & I can honestly say I love every minute of it!!

I know I have blogged about it a lot but my mom has just been so amazing with my wedding. She has done what most people wouldn't have been able to do & impresses me more everyday. I have been so busy with work and school that she has been doing a lot of the work. I am so thankful for this! Through this experience I have also gotten to know so many of her great friends on a new level. Her friends have all been so supportive and willing to help! I am so grateful to you for not only supporting Ryan & I but also supporting my mom.. You all have made my dreams come true & I know my mom appreciates it as well.

My mom has the kindest heart & the most giving soul! She is the prettiest, smartest, awesomest woman I know! She is classy & her beauty is not only on the outside but the inside. She is a true friend! She is adored and cherished by her husband & children! She catches a lot of flack for her kids & certain things her kids do (especially me) but knows her kids better then anyone else & always knows how to best help them! If it weren't for her I wouldn't be where I am today & neither would Ryan! She is emotionally tough & never backs down.. I'm so grateful for her! & so grateful that I will be her child for time & all eternity!!!

My heart is full of gratitude as my last week of a engaged woman approaches. I don't have everything figured out & am certain I'll make mistakes.. Becoming a official married adult scares the crap out me to be quite honest... But with my parents behind me I know that I can't & won't fail!!

My First Bridal Shower ♥♥

I had my very first Bridal shower!! I'm not going to lie it was kind of weird. I felt a little awkward walking into my own Bridal Shower. But after the first little bit I loosened up and had an amazing time.. A special thanks to my Sister Raelynne, my Aunt Joellen, Aunt Anne, Grandma Judy, Dani, and my best friend Danielle for putting this together for me!! & also special thanks to all my friends, family, & my mom's friends who came and supported me on this great day. Especially my mom who behind the scenes has helped me so much during this exciting, scary, emotional time of my life!

Our family does something they call pantry showers ( grocery showers, stock your cupboard showers) Whatever you want to call it. I super excited to get a ton of awesome things to stock my cupboards with. I got the necessities for my cupboards & also some yummy extra's! I was super excited!!!

Danielle made these awesome goody bags! They were so cute!!! & My Aunt Joe made some yummy cupcakes !! Everything was done so cute!!

I was so thankful for everything I got!! It will all be put to good use!!!

I always get so excited for the first snow! I don't know why but the first time I see it each year I just love it! I can't imagine living somewhere where you don't get all 4 seasons. 5years ago had you asked me what my favorite season was I would have said without even thinking SUMMER! But now that I am in College, working full time, and my day no matter what the season is pretty much consists of the same stuff over and over again. I have realize that every season is my favorite season! One season all the time would get so boring.

I love summer because I love the 4th of July, I love fireworks, Rodeos, slurpees, flip flops, shorts, & swimming.

I love Fall because I love the color change in the leafs, I love the first snow, I love when the boys leave hunting and girls do whatever they want, I actually love Holiday cooking with my mom, In the fall its Ryan, Cody, Raelynne, and My mom's birthday. But most of all I love to CHRISTMAS SHOP!!!!

I love Winter because its Christmas! I love Christmas lights, hot chocolate, decorating the Christmas tree, spending time with my family, eating tons of food, and I love Christmas Eve!

I love the color Spring brings with the tulips! I love easter time, I love the first spring horse ride I go on, I love capris.

I couldn't imagine living with out one of the seasons. It would seem so incomplete! A lot of people complain but I'm not going to lie I love me some Utah weather.. As unpredictable as it is at times =)

Today has been one of those days that I just feel so grateful! Grateful for so much. My Mom has put in so many hours making my wedding dreams come true. I'm a firm believer that she is superwoman! I'm grateful for a father who stands beside my mother... Right now I'm sitting here doing home doing homework.. Thinking..Pondering & I look over to my right and see my mom & Ryan asleep. Ryan & my Mom have both been working so hard.. They are both beyond exhausted.. Ryan's been working as much as possible and my mom has been doing everything. I am so very lucky to have these two they both look so cute right now.

I just remembered a really cute moment my mom and I had and that is when she meant Cody Ohl! She was so excited, happy, & star struck. Every time I think of that day I get a big ole' smile on my face.

I'm also so grateful for the Gospel in my life. The Gospel makes sense out of things that with out it would not make sense. I'm so excited to marry in the temple! Speaking of marriage in the temple...Ryan got his recommend for marriage and endowments!!=) Happy DaNCE!

Everyone has heard honesty is the best policy... & I am certain most people would agree with this.. Why is this so hard for some people to abide by..

Why do so many people live a life in a web of lies.. ? That must truly get confusing for some people. Sorting out fact from reality.. Fiction from non fiction.. True from false.. I guess that's not my problem & not my place to judge...

I was raised by the most honest man in the world with an equally honest mother. I am so glad I was raised with the parents I have been raised with who have never had this problem...

So grateful for the life I have been blessed with...

I have truly taken so much for granted...

So many things I thought were common courtesy and common sense aren't so common.

Wedding Update!

Well my wedding is coming a long great! Ryan & I have grown so much in the past few months. In every way possible... Life is crazy & different things get thrown at your during different times. During everything one thing stands true and that is I am so grateful for the Gospel in my life. I'm so grateful for the atonement, the book of mormon, and great parents who are always their no matter what.

Ryan has really grown a lot. Its really strengthened me so much to see such growth take place in him. He is loving his priesthood and taking being a husband and future father seriously. He told me he is so grateful that he has the power he needs to lead a home and raise children. He is preparing well to go through the temple & is thriving in the gospel.

I am so glad we are doing things the right way first. We have individually bettered ourselves which has made our relationship stronger. Its been amazing!!!

Heavenly Father offers to you the greatest gift of all—eternal life—and the opportunity and infinite blessing of your own “happily ever after.”

My dear young sisters all around the world, I am grateful and honored to be with you today. President Thomas S. Monson and all the leaders of the Church love you; we pray for you, and we rejoice in your faithfulness.

Over the years I have been exposed to many beautiful languages—each of them is fascinating and remarkable; each has its particular charm. But as different as these languages can be, they often have things in common. For example, in most languages there exists a phrase as magical and full of promise as perhaps any in the world. That phrase is “Once upon a time.”

Aren’t those wonderful words to begin a story? “Once upon a time” promises something: a story of adventure and romance, a story of princesses and princes. It may include tales of courage, hope, and everlasting love. In many of these stories, nice overcomes mean and good overcomes evil. But perhaps most of all, I love it when we turn to the last page and our eyes reach the final lines and we see the enchanting words “And they lived happily ever after.”

Isn’t that what we all desire: to be the heroes and heroines of our own stories; to triumph over adversity; to experience life in all its beauty; and, in the end, to live happily ever after?

Today I want to draw your attention to something very significant, very extraordinary. On the first page of your Young Women Personal Progress book, you will find these words: “You are a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father, prepared to come to the earth at this particular time for a sacred and glorious purpose.”¹

Sisters, those words are true! They are not made up in a fairy tale! Isn’t it remarkable to know that our eternal Heavenly Father knows you, hears you, watches over you, and loves you with an infinite love? In fact, His love for you is so great that He has granted you this earthly life as a precious gift of “once upon a time,” complete with your own true story of adventure, trial, and opportunities for greatness, nobility, courage, and love. And, most glorious of all, He offers you a gift beyond price and comprehension. Heavenly Father offers to you the greatest gift of all—eternal life—and the opportunity and infinite blessing of your own “happily ever after.”

But such a blessing does not come without a price. It is not given simply because you desire it. It comes only through understanding who you are and what you must become in order to be worthy of such a gift.

Trial Is Part of the Journey

For a moment, think back about your favorite fairy tale. In that story the main character may be a princess or a peasant; she might be a mermaid or a milkmaid, a ruler or a servant. You will find one thing all have in common: they must overcome adversity.

Cinderella has to endure her wicked stepmother and evil stepsisters. She is compelled to suffer long hours of servitude and ridicule.

In “Beauty and the Beast,” Belle becomes a captive to a frightful-looking beast in order to save her father. She sacrifices her home and family, all she holds dear, to spend several months in the beast’s castle.

In the tale “Rumpelstiltskin,” a poor miller promises the king that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king immediately sends for her and locks her in a room with a mound of straw and a spinning wheel. Later in the story she faces the danger of losing her firstborn child unless she can guess the name of the magical creature who helped her in this impossible task.

In each of these stories, Cinderella, Belle, and the miller’s daughter have to experience sadness and trial before they can reach their “happily ever after.” Think about it. Has there ever been a person who did not have to go through his or her own dark valley of temptation, trial, and sorrow?

Sandwiched between their “once upon a time” and “happily ever after,” they all had to experience great adversity. Why must all experience sadness and tragedy? Why could we not simply live in bliss and peace, each day filled with wonder, joy, and love?

The scriptures tell us there must be opposition in all things, for without it we could not discern the sweet from the bitter.² Would the marathon runner feel the triumph of finishing the race had she not felt the pain of the hours of pushing against her limits? Would the pianist feel the joy of mastering an intricate sonata without the painstaking hours of practice?

In stories, as in life, adversity teaches us things we cannot learn otherwise. Adversity helps to develop a depth of character that comes in no other way. Our loving Heavenly Father has set us in a world filled with challenges and trials so that we, through opposition, can learn wisdom, become stronger, and experience joy.

Let me share with you a personal experience I had as a teenager while our family was attending church in Frankfurt, Germany.

One Sunday the missionaries brought a new family to our meetings whom I hadn’t seen before. It was a mother with two beautiful daughters. I thought that these missionaries were doing a very, very good job.

I particularly took notice of the one daughter with gorgeous dark hair and large brown eyes. Her name was Harriet, and I think I fell in love with her from the first moment I saw her. Unfortunately, this beautiful young woman didn’t seem to feel the same about me. She had many young men who wanted to make her acquaintance, and I began to wonder if she would ever see me as anything but a friend. But I didn’t let that deter me. I figured out ways to be where she was. When I passed the sacrament, I made sure I was in the right position so that I would be the one to pass the sacrament to her.

When we had special activities at church, I rode my bike to Harriet’s house and rang the doorbell. Harriet’s mother usually answered. In fact, she opened the kitchen window of their apartment on the fourth floor and asked what I wanted. I would ask if Harriet would like a ride to church on my bicycle. Harriet’s mother would say, “No, she will be coming later, but I will be happy to ride with you to church.” This wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, but how could I decline?

And so we rode to church. I must admit I had a very impressive road bike. Harriet’s mother sat on the top tube bar just in front of me, and I tried to be the most elegant bicycle driver over roads of rough cobblestone.

Time passed. While beautiful Harriet was seeing many other young men, it seemed that I could not make any headway with her.

Was I disappointed? Yes.

Was I defeated? Absolutely not!

Actually, looking back I recognize that it doesn’t hurt at all to be on good terms with the mother of the girl of your dreams.

Years later, after I had finished my training as a fighter pilot in the air force, I experienced a modern miracle in Harriet’s response to my continued courting. One day she said, “Dieter, you have matured much over these past years.”

I moved quickly after that, and within a few months I was married to the woman I had loved ever since I first saw her. The process hadn’t been easy—there were moments of suffering and despair—but finally my happiness was full, and it still is, even more so.

My dear young sisters, you need to know that you will experience your own adversity. None is exempt. You will suffer, be tempted, and make mistakes. You will learn for yourself what every heroine has learned: through overcoming challenges come growth and strength.

It is your reaction to adversity, not the adversity itself, that determines how your life’s story will develop.

There are those among you who, although young, have already suffered a full measure of grief and sorrow. My heart is filled with compassion and love for you. How dear you are to the Church. How beloved you are of your Heavenly Father. Though it may seem that you are alone, angels attend you. Though you may feel that no one can understand the depth of your despair, our Savior, Jesus Christ, understands. He suffered more than we can possibly imagine, and He did it for us; He did it for you. You are not alone.

If you ever feel your burden is too great to bear, lift your heart to your Heavenly Father, and He will uphold and bless you. He says to you, as He said to Joseph Smith, “[Your] adversity and [your] afflictions shall be but a small moment; and then, if [you] endure it well, God shall exalt [you] on high.”³

Enduring adversity is not the only thing you must do to experience a happy life. Let me repeat: how you react to adversity and temptation is a critical factor in whether or not you arrive at your own “happily ever after.”

Stay True to What You Know Is Right

Sisters, young sisters, beloved young sisters, stay true to what you know is right. Everywhere you look today, you will find promises of happiness. Ads in magazines promise total bliss if you will only buy a certain outfit, shampoo, or makeup. Certain media productions glamorize those who embrace evil or who give in to base instincts. Often these same people are portrayed as models of success and accomplishment.

In a world where evil is portrayed as good and good as evil, sometimes it is difficult to know the truth. In some ways it is almost like Little Red Riding Hood’s dilemma: when you are not quite sure what you are seeing, is it a beloved grandmother or is it a dangerous wolf?

I spent many years in the cockpit of an airplane. My task was to get a big jet safely from any part of the world to our desired destination. I knew with certainty that if I wanted to travel from New York to Rome, I needed to fly east. If some were to tell me that I should fly south, I knew there was no truth in their words. I would not trust them because I knew for myself. No amount of persuasion, no amount of flattery, bribery, or threats could convince me that flying south would get me to my destination because I knew.

We all search for happiness, and we all try to find our own “happily ever after.” The truth is, God knows how to get there! And He has created a map for you; He knows the way. He is your beloved Heavenly Father, who seeks your good, your happiness. He desires with all the love of a perfect and pure Father that you reach your supernal destination. The map is available to all. It gives explicit directions of what to do and where to go to everyone who is striving to come unto Christ and “stand as [a witness] of God at all times and in all things, and in all places.”⁴ All you have to do is trust your Heavenly Father. Trust Him enough to follow His plan.

Nevertheless, not all will follow the map. They may look at it. They may think it is reasonable, perhaps even true. But they do not follow the divine directions. Many believe that any road will take them to a “happily ever after.” Some may even become angry when others who know the way try to help and tell them. They suppose that such advice is outdated, irrelevant, out of touch with modern life.

Sisters, they suppose wrong.

The Gospel Is the Way to Happily Ever After

I understand that, at times, some may wonder why they attend Church meetings or why it is so important to read the scriptures regularly or pray to our Heavenly Father daily. Here is my answer: You do these things because they are part of God’s path for you. And that path will take you to your “happily ever after” destination.

“Happily ever after” is not something found only in fairy tales. You can have it! It is available for you! But you must follow your Heavenly Father’s map.

Sisters, please embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ! Learn to love your Heavenly Father with all your heart, might, and mind. Fill your souls with virtue, and love goodness. Always strive to bring out the best in yourself and others.

Learn to accept and act upon the Young Women values. Live the standards in For the Strength of Youth. These standards guide and direct you to your “happily ever after.” Living these standards will prepare you to make sacred covenants in the temple and establish your own legacy of goodness in your individual circumstances. “Stand … in holy places, and be not moved,”⁵ regardless of temptations or difficulties. I promise you that future generations will be grateful for you and praise your name for your courage and faithfulness during this crucial time of your life.

My dear young sisters—you who stand for truth and righteousness, you who seek goodness, you who have entered the waters of baptism and walk in the ways of the Lord—our Father in Heaven has promised that you will “mount up with wings as eagles; [you] shall run, and not be weary; and [you] shall walk, and not faint.”⁶ You “shall not be deceived.”⁷ God will bless and prosper you.⁸ “The gates of hell shall not prevail against you; … and the Lord God will disperse the powers of darkness from before you, and cause the heavens to shake for your good, and his name’s glory.”⁹

Sisters, we love you. We pray for you. Be strong and of good courage. You are truly royal spirit daughters of Almighty God. You are princesses, destined to become queens. Your own wondrous story has already begun. Your “once upon a time” is now.

As an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I leave you my blessing and give you a promise that as you accept and live the values and principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, “[you] will be prepared to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.”¹⁰ And the day will come when you turn the final pages of your own glorious story; there you will read and experience the fulfillment of those blessed and wonderful words: “And they lived happily ever after.” Of this I testify in the holy name of Jesus Christ, amen.

26 candles

As of 9/12/2011 Ryan is 26 years old!! Yep, that's right he blew out 26 candles this year! Crazy to think I am dating a 26 year old man.. sheesshh! This year I really wanted him to have a birthday like I usually have. You know the type where everyone is their looking at you and celebrating your birthday! The kind where you pick what is for dinner & also what is for dessert! The kind where pretty much a whole evening is about you!! Between working full time, school part time, and wedding stuff I really don't have hardly anytime. So I was very grateful for my mom & sister for their hard work!! My mom whooped up Enchaladas which is what Ryan chose for dinner with home made salsa and home made bean dip. She also made him a skor cake. I got some rocky road and mint chip ice cream and we had a bash! My little sister planned a "how well do you know Ryan game" It was really fun and it was a 3 way tie between me, my mom, and my dad for the winner...

Ryan said he had an amazing birthday!! so it was a success!!!!

On 9/11/2001 I was in the 8^th grade. I was in the counseling office getting ready for an SEOP when all the sudden the TV’s in the office turned on and the footage from the twin towers was being shown. I was listening to some teachers and the counselors talk about what they thought was happening. I was scared. Looking back I’m kind of glad I was alone instead of in a class with my peers. I was able to focus on the TV and really take in what was happening. I remember watching the second plane hit the towers and just thinking “oh my gosh”. I was only 13 years old and my mind didn’t really comprehend what all was happening but I knew it was a big deal and my eyes were glued to the TV. The rest of my school day we pretty much watched the TV and some teachers talked to us about what was happening. I grew up watching a lot of MSNBC, FOX, & CNN so with time I was able to understand the significance of the events that took place this day. I came home and remember going in our down stairs and watching the TV with my mom. We talked about what was happening. That night I remember watching George Bush’s speech. Its one of my favorite speeches ever because I was so scared but after the speech my fear was replaced with faith. Faith in America & faith in our President Georg e W Bush! I’ll never forget 9-11 & the feelings I felt on that day. I’m so grateful for our troops who are still fighting the war on terror and I’ll always support them. God Bless America!

Ryan & I have been through a lot. I feel like we have been through every possible thing a dating couple could go through... Literally...

We haven't always known how to deal with the "rain" that life has thrown us...We have had some hard times...

But by working through the hard times we learned how stand strong together even when it "rains". & we our both on the path to becoming the people we have always wanted to be.

Steele Days & Draper Rodeo

My family was lucky enough to have the my Uncle Tj's kids for our AF Steele Days celebration. We had such a fun time at the Carnival and at the parade. They loved seeing Raelynne cheer in the parade.

Later that night we took them up to their very 1st rodeo in Draper. Little Maddie actually got a dollar off the cash cow. She was super excited.

Pioneer Day

This Pioneer day I thought a lot about the Pioneers & to be specific different stories I’ve heard about Pioneers. One of my favorite stories about my ancestors is that of my Great Great Grandpa Curly Bill Robinson, he was very sick as a child, so sick that his mother went and found Brigham Young to bless him. Brigham Young gave him a blessing and my great great Grandpa lived to be 91 years old. This event also helped convert my Great Great Great Grandpa Edward Robinson to the church.

I was thinking today, while I was hearing different stories of other people’s ancestors, about all the Pioneers who crossed the plains. It’s remarkable to think that all these years later we are still honoring them and still telling their stories.

What is it about the Pioneers that intrigue us? What is it about their stories that hit home to many of us and why do they? Life is so different now then it was back then.

As I listened to everyone’s stories one thing stood out to me. One thing was the same in every story I heard. Every single story had a terrible circumstance (trial) that a person faced & in every case the person was able to come out on top of their circumstance (trial). They conquered their bad circumstances… Each circumstance different… They turned their bad situation around and from there stories we learn what true faith, dedication, and true obedience is…

When I hear about a mother who’s faith literally built her son a new hip, about a group of young men who carried people across a freezing river, about the miles walked, the deaths that took place, the persecutions that took place, the illnesses, and the physical circumstances the pioneers faced my daily trials seem a lot easier…

As I here these stories I can’t help but think.. If they can do it I surely can do it…

Maturity: is word that means different things to different people. Based on your background, life you live currently, choices you have made... Not one person I have meant describes maturity the same... & generally in that description of maturity it somehow justifies something they have done.. For example some common things I here is: Maturity is moving out of your parents house and living on your own; Maturity is making your own rules and living your own life who cares about everyone else; I party because I'm an adult and mature enough to be in charge of my own actions; I have chosen to move on, forgive and forget, because its the mature thing to do and I have chosen to grow up..
I personally don't agree with any of those but hey!

My definition of maturity would be something like: Taking responsibility for your own actions, paying your bills, don't blame others for your life; take charge of your life. Live with in your means, establish a savings, stand behind what you say, work through your problems or else they will come back....

If you truly love someone you will want them to be the best they can be & push them to be the best person they can be. Because you see potential in them that they might not see in themselves.

If something is not "right" its "wrong" their is no gray area.

You can say what you want, how you want, to whom you want.. But you can't decide how what you say makes another person feel.

Its dealing with life, working through the problems, & experiencing ups and down that makes a person strong.

Too many woman are too heavily medicated... Put the xanax, valume, and anti depressants away and deal with life! ....side note... I do understand some people may legitimately need the stuff; I just think its abused & used as a scape goat too much..

Your not in charge of your childhood & you can't help somethings you went through as a child..But you are in charge of your child's childhood...

Life is a test & not meant to be easy! But God has given us a cheat sheet with all the answers but its our job to find them!

I chose my parents in heaven.... & I probably had to do some coaxing and convincing but they agreed to the task & took me on! This kind of makes me a little bit scared for what I agreed to take on... oh geeze!!

Horrorscopes are false and say nothing about who a person is..

Wedding UPDATE ♥

Well the wedding plans are coming along so great!!!!!!!!!!! It's so crazy to think about but I am super excited!!! My parents have been "all stars" & are being so supportive of everything!!! I couldn't ask for better! I am truly blessed.. Thanks to all my family & friends who have offered to help!! It's all been really appreciated! You know who you are!! Their are so many choices to make, choices I didn't even realize, but none the less I just can't wait!!!

Ryan & I have been working real hard to get "temple ready" & have been attending the Temple weekly to make sure when the big day comes we are where we need to be ♥ It's been so awesome & really added a "eternal" aspect to our relationship! Which has made our trials that more endurable ♥

Life has been a little hectic lately... But all & all awesome!
